THE FEVER by Wallace Shawn "I'm traveling, and I wake up suddenly in the silence before dawn in a strange hotel room in a poor country where my language isn't spoken, and I'm shaking and shivering. Why?" - opening salvo, The Fever…

Riding a mental merry-go- round as she becomes more deliriously ill, this blistering monologue occurs during a ‘small’ civil war outside the narrator’s third-world hotel. As her fever rages, so does she, veering wildly from middle class guilt to revolutionary fervor to cold pragmatism with compassion, a dollop of humor and ruthless self-scrutiny. ★★★★★ “ the most skilful, deeply ruminative piece you'll see … gripping, exhilarating and exhausting... a scintillating 90-minutes of thought-provoking questions” Edmonton Journal (Canada)

WHERE/WHEN/HOW MUCH THIS PRODUCTION IS AN EXPERIMENT IN INTIMATE PERFORMANCES – Since July and thru November, performer Llysa Holland will be performing in smaller spaces – ranging from Seattle Immersive Theater’s lobby (seating 40-ish) to living rooms, converted garages and even a few backyards. There are both private salon performances, akin to house concerts*, as well as the more public performances. Additional dates will be announced at theatersimple.org as they are confirmed.

All public performances are Pay-What-You-Will post-show (suggested donation $15-40) The post-show conversation (over refreshments) is the ultimate goal – finding ways to have conversation(s) with our peers and neighbors about uncomfortable issues when it is important we do so, especially in the current political climate, globally and neighborly. Reservations: please email TheFever@theatersimple.org, or call 206.784-8647 ext 1 before 9/6/16. LIMITED SEATING
